New this year, courtesy of MeetMax Games, is a web-based deck-building trading card game that any attendee can play for free, anytime during the convention, on a smartphone or other internet-enabled device. There's no app and no download — just scan the QR code at the registration table, pick a username, and you're off. As you move through KantCon, you'll visit stations to collect cards and decide which to keep or discard, building the best deck you can. Want a stronger hand? Trade cards with other players — a low-key, friendly way to strike up a conversation with fellow attendees, whether you're meeting someone new or wheeling and dealing with friends. Prefer to fly solo? You can collect, build, and play entirely on your own. Each day, submit your highest-scoring hand before the daily cut-off to be entered into a drawing for a prize. It's a relaxed, social, play-at-your-own-pace addition to the convention that's open to everyone on site.
